Dramatic light

This beautiful listed building was crying out for an extra living space that would benefit from the southwest light coming in from well established gardens. Our clients were anxious to make sure that anything they did build was appropriate for the age and style of the property and stayed true to the character of their home.

After consultation we designed the conservatory to mirror the external gables, a strong architectural feature of the property. We then added fanlights with an astragal design to increase the height of the conservatory panels and suit the proportions of the building.

The existing windows were changed to doors so the conservatory can be entered from both the kitchen and lounge creating a natural flow to the internal floor space. With room for both a dining and a seating area this new conservatory has fast become the most used room in the house. Natural flooring with neutral comfortable furnishings and soft lighting creates a peaceful space that takes full advantage of the changing light and gorgeous views of the garden.
