Period charm
When our client first bought the property they inherited a conservatory leading from the kitchen. Unfortunately it was leaking and draughty, not ideal especially when the kitchen was opened up and was the hub of the family home.
The house was within a conservation area and there was a strict requirement that any new addition remained true to the architecture of the building. We added period character through details like a cartwheel design over the external doors alongside hardwood astragals within the window sections.
Internally the colour was chosen to match the kitchen units and create a light environment whilst externally the moss green frames are in keeping with the stonework of the building and suit the enclosed garden. A low stone wall inside provides shelf space for plants, lighting, ornaments and even a window seat where one can sit and enjoy the view of the garden. This space has now been transformed into a lovely, light and warm environment.
