The brief

A Mozolowski & Murray sun lounge sells itself!  Through the quality of its design and build, our clients contacted us having seen a friends Mozolowski & Murray sun lounge which boasted a solid and partially glazed roof (combination roof). They could see the potential for something like this in their own home and contacted us. Their style of property differed slightly in that it was more traditional and had a strong existing architectural design. So we had to factor this into our overall design to ensure the sun lounge blended in but provided light, space and style, all key elements of our brief.

The outcome

With a window placed just above where the sun lounge was to be positioned, our designer decided to work around the upper window by hipping the roof back down against the house wall, avoiding the window and creating an interesting roof detail, by incorporating triangular glazed panels in the back roof section, which would flood the room with light.

By forming a new doorway into the kitchen, the new sun lounge, snug and kitchen would be interlinked becoming the perfect living and entertaining space. Solid walls to the side elevations were built to direct the view towards the garden and away from the boundary and neighbouring property, providing just the right amount of privacy. The combination of design, stone and glass on this property has resulted in a sun lounge which encompasses traditional and contemporary features, for a truly comfortable and stylish addition to this home.
