The Brief

While our clients already valued the outlook and lifestyle benefits their existing conservatory gave them, they recognised that 20 years on, it was time to renew. So, we were asked to design and install a more modern and larger structure that could continue to be enjoyed every day. The new conservatory was to extend out towards the rear of the building and take full advantage of the sea views whilst creating enough space to comfortably accommodate a dining and seating area with an external glass balcony.

The Outcome

The original Victorian style conservatory was positioned on the side gable elevation of this beautiful traditional property, complimenting each other perfectly.  We followed the original footprint but extended the design out to the rear, to create the extra floor space needed. It was essential the design took full advantage of the stunning Seaview outlook so we incorporated large patio doors which subtly frame the view and seamlessly connect our clients to the outdoors. The patio doors open out onto a small balcony which is a joy to use during the summer months. Internally, we created a soffit in the ceiling around the perimeter of the room to accommodate down light points with pendant lights separately switched in the glass ceiling so the external light fittings on the feature corner posts, light the balcony at night. This is a truly stunning space which our clients can enjoy anytime of day, night or year!
